Bus Trip to Augusta 70.3 Half Ironman Triathlon

July 18, 2010

Please join us and other participants to and from the 2010 Augusta 70.3!

The bus will depart on Friday September 24th, 2010 at 6am from Largo location TBD. A second pick up in Tampa may be scheduled at 7:15 a.m. providing we have several persons leaving from that area.

The primary site in Augusta will be the race headquarters at the Augusta Marriott. While there, we will have use of the bus for common interest trips such as dinner and/or a trip around the bike course. Since not everyone was able to get a room at the Marriott, we will pick up and drop off passengers staying at other nearby hotels. We will work out the best schedules for all involved – but there is only one bus so there may be some grouping.

On the return trip, we will depart from the Augusta Marriott Monday morning at 8am, returning to Largo at approximately 6pm. Any Tampa passengers will be dropped off at their point of origin.

The bus will be a luxury coach from ESCOT Bus Lines. It will have a restroom, DVD player, overhead and under floor storage. If you have a PG rated movie you want to share, please bring it. We will stop for refreshments and lunch. You may bring a small personal cooler as long as it will fit in the overhead compartment.

Bikes: will be stored underneath in the baggage bays of the bus. We will be hanging the bikes on racks (such as at triathlons) and securing with bungee cords/ropes. Please bring a small blanket or towel to wrap around your bike. We should be able to pack the bikes with just the pedals removed. We will have a pedal wrench on hand. Bike packing will take place one or two days prior TO departure, TIME AND location TO be determined. Reloading the bikes will take place AT the Marriott ON Sunday evening. We will unload bikes AT the bus DROP offs.

Luggage: The bikes will take up a lot of the under floor baggage space so please limit your luggage to a weekend bag and a triathlon gear bag.

The cost per passenger is $150 – round trip. The price is inclusive of bike transportation, tips, taxes and drivers accommodations. The fees are non-refundable, however, should we not get the required minimum of 23 passengers; your money will be returned. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check, Master Card, Visa and Amex.
